Yes, that's right "Plug-N-Play" There are no serial or USB cables or driver software to load or install, thus, no comports to search, test, and select.In your software settings; Set comport to "NONE." Most important, the RASCAL II Plus completely isolates the PC from the Transceiver, using high-quality interstage audio, transformer coupling. Both Input and Output are isolated, eleminating the chance of hum or noise appearing on your signal. This improves your on-air signal and IMD product.
With our BUXCOMM (Tone Activated Xmit) TAXtm circuitry, the BUXCOMM RASCAL II, does not require power from any source, PC transceiver, or battery.The RASCAL II does not use your transceiver VOX. Use your regular sound card software for the AFSK Digital mode you wish to operate. There are no serial or USB cables or driver software to load or install, thus, no comports to select. Transmit Indication is displayed within your sound card program software. In addition, when connected to your transceiver, the radio transmit indicators will suffice. Receive and Transmit Audio Levels "TX Level" and "RX Level" are software adjustable slider controls within your sound card programs, and computer sound card driver software.

Supports All AFSK Data & Voice Modes – The BUXCOMM RASCAL II supports ALL AFSK, Digital and Voice modes that are available for sound card interfaces. This includes ALL traditional modes such as AFSK operation of PSK31, Packet, MT-63, SSTV and other AFSK modes, (not echolink). This makes for a very simple and clean installation.
